Bogota, September 13 (EFE) .- Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos accepted the resignation of Civil Aeronautics Director Alfredo Bocanegra, who leaves office after facing another an official of the entity for air security during the visit of Pope Francisco, local media reported. p>
The temporary replacement of Bocanegra will be the deputy general director of the entity, Édar Francisco Sánchez, the media said. P>
One of the reasons that led to the resignation of Bocanegra Tuesday was the confrontation he held last week with General Juan Ramírez told reporters that Bocanegra wanted to have him sign "at the last minute" a change in the airport regulation to allow the carrying of weapons in the flights that the Pope Francisco made from Bogota to the cities of Villavicencio, Medellín and Cartagena, as part of the visit which took place between 6 and 10 September. p>
Since arriving in the position on June 30, 2016, lawyer Bocanegra has been criticized on several occasions for the alleged handling irregularities within the Aerocivil such as having made personal trips with public resources and mistreating their subordinates.
